The popular Android phone manufacturer, OnePlus, is claimed to be working on its first foldable phone, the OnePlus Open. Although there are no official announcements about the expected device, the rumors and leaks keep revealing. According to earlier leaks, the phone would launch on August 29, but the latest reports show that the OnePlus Open will launch later due to changes in screens. Here are the details about the OnePlus Open

OnePlus Open might have delayed due to change in plans

The earlier reports by Max Jambor claimed that the tech giant would unveil its first foldable smartphone on August 29. Now, the tipster says that there are changes in plans and the company delayed the launch of the upcoming foldable phone. While the new date is not clear yet, it might be a few weeks later than the earlier leaked date.

According to Omdia’s report, OnePlus’ upcoming foldable phone will use two Samsung Display panels, one on the front and one inside. It is claimed that the Open will have a 6.3-inch cover display and a 7.8-inch internal display.

The OnePlus Open will probably have a clamshell design, which is similar to the Samsung Galaxy Fold. While it will support 5G connectivity, it will be water-resistant, and there will be a fingerprint sensor on the side power button.

OnePlus will likely prefer Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset in its first foldable phone, and the phone will have 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage, according to rumors. It will have a 4,800mAh battery with 67W fast charging, and it is expected to cost between $1,500 and $1,800.
